Chyan is a filmmaker based in New York City and Taipei.
Her work moves between narrative and documentary forms. In the ordinary, she searches for fissures where damp, shadowed undercurrents hold both vulnerability and vitality. She is attentive to her own gaze - the gap between herself and her subjects, who is looking and from where.
